Gu Suhua writes about the auxiliary Bishop of Shanghai, Ma Daqin and why Christianity and Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association (CCPA) don't mix.

Matteo Ricci an early bilingual catholic priest went to China and spoke to them in their native tongue spreading the word of Christianity.

Chiang Kai-shek was one such Chinese leader who followed what Matteo and valued his linguistic skills.
